Alternative Therapies
  • VOM (Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation)
This is a technology that identifies areas of the nervous system that are not properly communicating and reestablishes flow of signals, thus inducing healing.   Most commonly it is utilized for spinal injuries and lameness (either from degenerative joint disease or acute injury).  VOM has also been used successfully to address many other issues including esophageal disease, behavioral problems, urinary or fecal incontinence, gastrointestinal problems, and certain endocrine disorders.  The technique involves the use of a small handheld device called a spinal accelerometer to identify and then correct small subluxations along the spine or associated with certain joints.  VOM is well tolerated by most animals and often results in improved mobility and comfort even after the first treatment.

  • Massage
Touch is important for both human and animal bonding.  Massage is a great way to interact with your pet and can be beneficial for recovery from injury or illness, for aid in chronic pain management, or just as a way to relieve stress and tension (for both you and your pet).

  • Energy Balancing
Based upon the eastern medicine principles of energy flow and total body function, this practice involves reestablishing proper flow of energy (or chi) through various points along the body.   Energy balancing can be an adjunctive treatment for a variety of conditions including behavior problems, chronic diseases, cancer, and chronic pain.
